Dead Space takes place 500 years into the future. The hero is Isaac Clarke; he's not a marine, he's a
systems engineer. Isaac and a small crew travel to a derelict ship called the USG Ishimura. The Ishimura
is a planet-cracker class mining ship and its job is to find resources from dead planets and tear them apart.
While Isaac has to repair the communications onboard the ship, he is also searching for someone very special
to him: a woman named Nicole Brennan. Nicole is among the lost on the Ishimura. This routine repair job goes
wrong when Isaac is separated from his crew and finds himself being stalked by alien-possessed undead called
Necromorphs. Isaac must fight off the Necromorphs and escape the Ishimura.
